Introducing Music for Ballet Volume 2 - the second set of piano music for dance teachers created in collaboration with an artist, ballerina and teacher whose work I admire immensely. This part is still under wraps but more news on that to come.

My music for dance class always comes from an eclectic range of sources and it is no different here - across the three volumes you'll find 34 classical arrangements and adaptations by composers including Schubert, Liszt, Ravel, Debussy, Brahms, Bach, Shostakovich, Prokofiev, Borodin and Tchaikovsky. Then there are 10 adaptations of jazz and popular standards, and 7 of my own compositions for dance, all recorded at home over several months of lockdown. I then spent some time organising the music into six or so styles commonly used in a class - all becomes clear with the included PDF explainer.

For the album artwork, I’m so thrilled to collaborate with Samantha Lavorato - www.instagram.com/samanthalavoratoartwork/ - an amazing self taught fluid artist whose work I got to know during lockdown #2. I found her paintings such a vivid visual aid to the music making, and perhaps it could also serve as an inspiration for movement.
